How we choose stays
Best Staycations is an editorial directory of UK hotels, inns, cabins, estates, and unusual places to stay. We look for properties with character, quality, a strong sense of place, and a clear reason to book for a short UK break.
What we look for
- Distinctive setting: coast, countryside, city-edge, woodland, estate, or landmark building.
- Guest usefulness: practical location, good food, comfort, and enough to do for one or two nights.
- Clear stay type: romantic, family, dog-friendly, spa, walking, glamping, luxury, or unusual.
- Quality signals: imagery, guest sentiment, ratings where available, and the strength of the property story.
- Regional balance: we want travellers to find excellent options beyond the obvious hotspots.
How pages are refreshed
We add new editorial guides and refresh key pages regularly. Property data, categories, region pages, and internal links are reviewed as the collection expands so thin or outdated pages do not become the main experience.
Corrections
If a listing is outdated or a property has materially changed, contact us with the property name and details. We would rather update or remove a page than leave travellers with stale information.
