Blakeney, Norfolk
Norfolk's Coastal Soul, Distilled
Where salt marshes meet simple, restorative pleasure on the edge of the world.
Tucked into the unspoilt edges of the Norfolk coast, Blakeney House places you mere steps from the timeless charm of Blakeney Quay, where seal colonies bask on distant sandbanks and the air carries the clean, briny promise of open water. This quietly confident mid-range retreat earns its impressive 4.6-star rating through understated comfort and an enviable position at the gateway to some of England's most rewarding coastal walking country. It is the kind of place that asks nothing of you except to slow down.
Mornings here belong to the birdwatchers, who set out at dawn with binoculars trained on the vast skies above the salt marshes, one of the finest habitats for migratory species in the British Isles. By afternoon, walkers return windswept and invigorated from the coastal paths that unfurl along the shoreline in both directions, leading through reed beds and nature reserves that feel genuinely wild and wonderfully remote. The quay itself, a short stroll away, is the social heart of the village, where crab boats bob and local life carries on at a reassuringly unhurried pace.
Blakeney House is not about spectacle or excess — it is about being placed, perfectly and precisely, in one of Norfolk's most beloved corners. For those who find their greatest luxury in a long horizon and a well-earned rest, this is exactly where you need to be.

What They Say
“Fantastic staff that were very accommodating with us having two children and two dogs. Excellent food, the New Years Eve gala dinner especially, and lovely breakfasts. The rooms were perfect for the family and dogs, having its own little courtyard at the back, so we couldn’t really fault our stay. Thank you Sean and Team.”
“What an amazing Sunday Lunch! The service was friendly and efficient and the food was incredible. We love a proper Roast Beef with everything and we couldn’t fault the Blakeney House efforts yesterday. The beef was tender and full of flavour, vegetables perfectly cooked, the Yorkshire pudding crispy. The gravy was thick and absolutely gorgeous; richly flavoured and an extra jug brought on request. It really is one of the best in North Norfolk and we will definitely be back soon”
“An excellent boutique hotel all round. 10 rooms, great restaurant and really good attention to detail. Nice garden for the dogs, and a park next door, situated right in the village, I can't fault it.”
“We came here New Year’s Day 2026 with 2 boxers dogs for a quick drink , we ended up staying best part of the day , it was very cosie and the staff were very welcoming especially the manager/owner , we will definitely be back later in the year , thanks again and thanks for the dogs gravy bones , happy new year”
“We have just returned from a long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday at Blakeney House Hotel and would have to say it definitely deserves the 5 star rating. The rooms are emaculate, the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate our large party of guests, the bar was a welcome surprise stocked with quality brands, an exceptional stay made special by the awesome staff.”
