Bath, Somerset
Somerset's Most Sustainably Indulgent Escape
Where Georgian grandeur meets green-fingered soul, and the water is always warm.
Nestled in the rolling Somerset countryside just a stone's throw from the elegant streets of Bath, Homewood Hotel and Spa is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever bothered with a passport. Grand Georgian bones meet a gloriously eclectic interior β think bold artworks, characterful bedrooms with distinct personalities, and the kind of atmosphere that feels at once lively and deeply restorative. It is, in the most charming sense, full of surprises.
The spa is the undisputed heart of the experience. An indoor hydrotherapy pool, steam room, sauna, and a heated outdoor pool that shimmers like a jewel against the Somerset sky make for an almost indecently good wellness offering. And for those who care where their dinner comes from, Homewood's no-dig kitchen garden β a quietly radical commitment to sustainable, soil-conscious growing β supplies the kitchen with produce that finds its way into generous sharing platters and hearty classics, served with a warmth and Mediterranean generosity that will have you lingering long after dessert.
Mid-range in price but never in spirit, Homewood punches well above its weight. Couples seeking a restorative escape, spa devotees in search of proper hydrotherapy, and eco-conscious travellers who refuse to compromise on comfort will all find exactly what they were looking for here. Book a room with a hot tub, order a bottle of something local, and let Bath work its ancient magic.

βI love love loved this place π So beautiful, outside and inside. It's about a 15mins drive from the bath spa station and city centre. Local taxis available and cheaper if you are travelling by train. Loads of parking onsite and grounds to cover, the spa area is amazing, high tech modern facilities available, I didn't get to use it but the views are glorious and so are the remarks from the other ladies in our group. Now my room was super special, cosy and fun. I stayed in the mews and loved it. Every detail was superbly done, the views ππ The staff were so helpful and their attention to detail is impressive. Lovely meeting room spaces sorted around the hotel. The pods are so lovely and would be amazing in the summer. The outdoor spaces are well crafted to showcase the beauty of the hilltop views. There is a lounge area that has board games etc for entertainment, which I thought is a really sweet touch! Dinner was so good, every course was beautifully selected and it portrayed the heart of the chefs ππ½ The sweet pantry, just so thoughtful little touches that make you feel like you are being looked after. It comes highly recommended and I would stay here again and again ππ½β€οΈβ
βWe cannot wait to come back and spend more time here. The restaurant was incredible. Each item we got for dinner were created and cooked extremely well, and all of the flavours mix together perfectly. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect 3 course evening. There is also a large selection of wines and cocktails! I would love nothing more than to spend my whole evening here, it's so cozy!β
βGenuinely excellent. This place is full of character, and the staff help make it. The rooms are all well fitted out. Even a smeg batista coffee machine ! The grounds are lovely and have a sense of adventure. The spa was lovely. Who'd a thought an outdoor pool in November could be inviting. And both my wife and I had excellent treatments. For the evening Anette looked after us as a group. Her wit and excellent service helped the elevate the weekend. But all the staff seemed to enjoy being there. And it made the difference. A bit of real service and not the usual corporate bollocks. Great hotel. Lovely spa. Decent service all made for a smashing weekend. Many thanks.β
βI couldnβt praise this hotel any more! We just had our second stay at Homewood, after first staying a few years ago when they opened, and itβs even better than before. The staff are lovely, friendly and attentive- from little things like leaving chocolates in our room, to offering me a pregnancy pillow and just generally being so helpful and welcoming. The rooms are so comfortable and every detail is thought through. Excellent breakfast with lots of options. Exceptional, clean spa facilities, (we were obsessed with the heated pool and outside jacuzzi)! Lots of choices of stunning walks nearby. It wonβt be the last time we stay here I hope, I love it so much!β
βA short but sweet night away as a birthday treat to myself, absolutely loved this place. The room was cosy and had all the amenities required (only very minor issue was bed was a little hard for my liking) however the service, in particular from Drew, Olivia, Maria & Anette was outstanding! They looked after me incredibly well and could not have done more for me. The spa & treatment I had were brilliant also, a great way to unwind and relax! Really enjoyed the outdoor heated pool in the November chill.β
