Perched among the ancient oaks on the banks of the River Teith, the five eco treehouses at Lanrick offer something increasingly rare in modern travel: genuine, unhurried stillness. Designed by acclaimed studio Mallett, each individually styled hideaway comes complete with a crackling log stove, a treetop terrace for watching red kites wheel overhead, and an outdoor bath from which to soak beneath open Scottish skies. This is escapism with excellent taste — off-grid in spirit, but uncompromising in comfort. The fact that you are just one hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh makes the sense of profound remoteness here all the more remarkable.

“Stunning location Rooms beautifully thought out, loved the quirky style. The welcome back was greatly received. We did the woodland walks and spent hours watching the birds, in the outdoor bath and just enjoy the peace. The local area is such a great base for exploring too. We particularly enjoyed the log fire, bbq on the deck as well as the outdoor bath. The treehouse itself is finished to an impeccable standard. I would really recommend staying here and can’t wait for our next visit. We also choose to add on some of the food packages , these provided lovely gluten free options too & were delicious.”

“Just back from a fabulous weekend in the treehouat lanrick. Houses were beautiful decorated, clean and very well equipped. We had some lovely walks even though the weather wasn't good it didn't matter. Lots and lots of wildlife. So much to do in the surrounding area. Highly recommend and hope to be back again someday”

“Just fabulous. We went in late May when the leaves were lush and the enormous rhododendrons were in full bloom. The river walks are wonderful. The houses are amazing and very comfortable. We were three generations and everyone loved it.”
