What they say
“The food here is simply the best we have ever tasted. It's the highlight of the hotel! I had the chicken with mushroom, which was absolutely amazing, and a definite must-order side dish is the harissa carrots—they were phenomenal. My husband is still talking about his burger, which he declares the best he’s ever had. They also offer a lovely range of cocktails and whisky, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. We stayed in Room 8, which completely exceeded our expectations. The room was stocked with more than we needed, including all the hot drinks and little touches that make a difference. Best of all, Room 8 features a great little balcony! This was the perfect spot for sitting out at night and looking out at the stars. We simply can't wait to go back again. If you're looking for world-class food, a cosy room, and genuinely kind staff, look no further than The Grandtully Hotel. We'd give more stars if we could!”
“We had a 5-day Selkie tour with American clients recently and while they chose Pitlochry as a base, I planned to stay nearby in Aberfeldy. I checked availability of accommodation & rates for the highly awarded Grandtully Hotel on a well known OTA (I'd previously enjoyed a 'pop-up' lunch hosted by Ballintaggart in Ullapool) so I wanted to stay and dine there. Sadly, I didn't get the email reply for 2 days, by which time the hotel was now fully booked (serves me right for trying to book directly and save the hotel the 20% commission). So I decided to dine with them instead. I booked the restaurant online for the A La Carte menu at 7.30pm and arrived a little earlier. I enjoyed a nice glass of Rioja and was sat in the busy bar for my dinner instead (maybe I needed to book the tasting menu to sit in the restaurant). The paper menu was varied and there was a specials offering but the items I fancied were sold out so obviously popular. The hotel uses local and seasonal ingredients which I like and the bar dining felt very much like a local pub which I also like. I ordered sourdough bread with marmite butter and haggis & black pudding bon-bons to start. For main course, I had half a free-range chicken breat and a tiny croquet potato and a baby leek with sauce. I didn't go for dessert on this visit as my preferred choice was sold out. Overall, the food was decent, especially the chicken main-course and the service was polite and efficient. I think the staff missed the opportunity to chat to me as a customer so I didn't really feel that welcome or valued. Getting to know non-locals or taking that bit of extra time with guests you've not seen before (especially those eating alone) can often provide the next sale and maybe I'd be booking rooms there in future. Will I return.... probably not as there are so many hotels & food places to try in Perthshire. I gave it 4 stars and I didn't stay overnight.”
“We had the pleasure of dining at Grandtully Hotel, and it truly lived up to its reputation as a Michelin Guide restaurant. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Their sandwiches and soups were hearty and satisfying, but the highlight of the meal was the langoustine — absolutely succulent and full of taste. A must-try dish if you visit! While they don’t offer halal options, there are still some delicious vegetarian and seafood dishes to enjoy. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, and the service was equally impressive. A fantastic spot for a gourmet experience in Scotland!”
“My partner booked the tasted menu for my birthday meal & we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Each course tasted great and we appreciated the slight pause between serving each course so that we were not stuffed! We will definitely return if we are ever in the area again as I would love to stay too.”
“We ate at the bar and everything was amazing. The food was perfect for a reasonable price. The staff was very nice. We would eat there again ! Plus their playlist is amazing and included one of my favorite songs.”
