Where Dartmoor Meets Rustic Splendour
A listed manor where wild gardens and moorland magic await the discerning romantic.
Tucked into the ancient folds of the Dartmoor hills, Weeke Barton is the kind of Grade II-listed country manor that feels less like a hotel and more like a glorious secret. Set across five acres of gloriously wild gardens in the timeless village of Drewsteignton, this rustic-chic retreat offers five beautifully appointed en-suite rooms that blend historic character with considered luxury. Stone walls, rolling moorland views and the unhurried pace of deep Devon conspire to make the outside world feel wonderfully far away.
For couples seeking a true countryside escape, Weeke Barton strikes a rare and satisfying balance. The wild gardens invite languid afternoon wandering, while the licensed dining room ensures that evenings are as indulgent as the surroundings demand — think local produce, candlelight and the particular contentment that only comes from being somewhere genuinely special. The Dartmoor National Park unfolds on the doorstep, offering everything from brisk moorland hikes to leisurely drives through some of England's most dramatic landscapes.
Weeke Barton does not shout about itself, and that is precisely its charm. It belongs to a quieter, more soulful school of luxury — one measured not in amenities checklists but in long mornings, slower breakfasts and the rare feeling of having found exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

What They Say
“We booked the entire Weeke Barton for a special occasion and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The house is beautiful, full of character, and set in stunning Devon countryside. Jo and Sam were the perfect hosts. Warm, thoughtful, and attentive. They went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. Highly recommend for a memorable getaway!”
“We stay at a lot of boutique hotels but Sam and Joe really are stand out for their hugely warm and welcoming, easy going, yet no detail spared, style. We were so impressed by what's clearly been years of care and curation put into the 14th century long house, now reimagined with all the stylish cosy modern edge you would dream of. They made us feel completely at home, fed us with a delicious home made breakfast and supper, and our labrador was particularly taken too with his new best friend, Winston, the extremely friendly house doggy! Would highly recommend for dog lovers and those looking for a cosy jumping off point into the beautiful surrounding countryside.”
“We had the most amazing time staying at Weeke Barton! The hosts were so thoughtful and welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. We also had the pie and apple crumble on Friday evening, which was incredible. The room was cosy and lovely, and the bed was super comfortable. It’s such a peaceful, stylish place to stay. They gave us some fantastic recommendations too- there’s a lovely vineyard nearby, plus loads of beautiful moor and coastal walks. Wish we had a few more days!”
“What a wonderful find! The owners were so friendly and accommodating, and the hotel, room, grounds and breakfast were gorgeous. There were so many nice little touches such as the honesty bar and you could also help yourself to milk/water whenever you need. We stayed in the Kota room, which was a perfect hide away, we loved the bath, wood burner and projector screen..the pictures don't do it justice. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will 100% be returning guests. It's great to see an independent hotel doing so well!”
“We had a lovely stay at Weeke Barton. The owners were particularly welcoming from the get go where we were given a tour and any questions we had answered. Our room was clean and our bed was incredibly comfy. Shower was powerful. We loved the little touches like the honesty bar, DVD library and text system for ordering breakfast - which was delicious. We stayed on a weekend with a big separate wedding party which did make it quite noisy at times through the doors/ walls as it is a proper house set up, but that is no fault of the owner. Would definitely recommend this lovely and quirky guest house to others.”
