Where Lavender Meets Pure Luxury
A Cotswolds country house retreat that stirs the soul and soothes it in equal measure.
Tucked into the rolling heart of the Cotswolds, Calcot Manor is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever book flights abroad. Set against a dreamy backdrop of lavender fields, this converted 14th-century farmstead strikes that rare and enviable balance between effortless luxury and genuine warmth — the sort of country house retreat that feels like a well-kept secret shared only between those who truly know how to travel well.
The spa is the undisputed jewel in Calcot's crown. Sink into the bubbling outdoor hydro-pool as the Gloucestershire countryside stretches out around you, or surrender yourself to the expert hands of therapists wielding the beloved Aromatherapy Associates collection — botanicals so beautifully blended they feel like wellness distilled into its purest form. This is not spa-as-afterthought; this is spa as the entire point.
What makes Calcot truly special, however, is its generosity of spirit. Equally adept at cocooning honeymooning couples in romantic seclusion as it is at delighting families with children in tow, it refuses to choose between intimacy and inclusivity. Whether you're raising a glass of English sparkling wine by the fire or watching your children discover the countryside for the first time, Calcot Manor delivers that most coveted of feelings: that you are, for this moment at least, exactly where you should be.

What They Say
“The most wonderful experience! Hotel and rooms are spotless. The staff are really friendly, you can always find someone. It all seems to work effortlessly like clock work. We are in the restaurant and I had the best steak, friends had the fish, both lovely. My 9 month old was looked after for a couple of hours at the play barn and they were all warm and friendly. The spa speaks for itself and I would recommend taking the hotel bikes out and their bike trail…beautiful!”
“We had a fabulous stay at Calcot Manor and Spa. A truly wonderful hotel that is warm, welcoming and thoroughly 5⭐️. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really go above and beyond to make your stay special. The spa facilities are amazing, we had a lovely few hours relaxing in all the areas on offer. Lunch in The Hive and dinner in The Brasserie were both absolutely delicious - would highly recommend the Chateaubriand! Can’t wait to go back!”
“Just returned from a midweek winter bubbles package stay at calcot spa , and I’m never one to leave reviews but I had to leave a review on this place, myself and my boyfriend cannot stop talking about it we had the best stay and experience here. From the minute we checked in until the minute we checked out (even giving us a mini gift bag for our journey home). Every little thing in this hotel is thought about in so much detail and beautifully and it didn’t go missed by us. We were greeted with a room upgrade which we were over the moon by this never happens to us! And the room was ready for us early as we arrived around 12:30 so this was a nice surprise. We had the avening room and I was in awe it was so beautiful the bathroom, the bed was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time and all the little amenities given like hot chocolate and snacks. The spa was beautiful and so chilled , I had a treatment from Megan who was amazing the massage was brilliant and all the facilities were immaculate . It was quiet and a bar available we couldn’t have asked for anything else. Every single staff member was so lovely and helpful so I wanted to point this out, all the spa staff reception and bar and restaurants. We had the afternoon tea which was gorgeous and some nibbles sat by the fire which were so tasty. It truly was our dream stay, it had a lovely relaxed environment and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are incredible and we were lucky we had nice weather the next morning so it was even more beautiful. There is too much I could say about our stay! We are definitely going to be making our trip to calcot An annual trip and hope the winter bubbles package will still be available, we are from up north and it was definitely worth our journey down! Thankyou calcot”
“Spa review.. I arrived 30mins early to enjoy the spa facilities. The lady at the front desk asks if I'm a member or staying at the hotel. I'm not, as I live locally. So I couldn't use the spa. I'm paying £160 for a 1hr facial and I can't use the spa. Very disappointing. Especially, as you can do a half day with facial, two course lunch and access to the spa for £220. Seems like a very greedy, short sighted business practice. I would have genuinely been interested in the gym and spa as its so close to where I live, but not with this policy and service. Adding to this review, now that I've had my facial. My beauty therapist was Ellie. She run through the medical questions very quickly in what felt like a script. There was zero small talk or personalization. Felt very robotic and not relaxing. The facial/massage bed was narrow and very uncomfortable. The bolster were not moved to accommodate my height (6ft) and when I asked if she had other bolsters to support my knees and back, she said no and lifted my head without warning. When the facial was over I was delivered another script, and I had to ask where I could make myself presentable. She directed me, did not take me to the changing room, so went the wrong way. I had planned on coming here in February, for a half day with girlfriends, for a pampering as new moms. I'll now be looking elsewhere. The two stars are because my face is feeling replenished and dewy, which is lovely. Everything else was a disappointment.”
“We have just returned from the most relaxing stay at Calcot! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt completely spoilt. We were greeted at the gates by 2 lovely men who took our bags straight to our room and the 5 star treatment carried on from there. Every request we had was fulfilled with efficiency and enthusiasm! All the little extras made the trip truly special. From our room upgrade to the little birthday present left for our daughter - what a treat. We visited the Playbarn on our arrival and were so impressed with the kindness and attentiveness of the team. We left our daughter for a couple of hours each morning so we could enjoy a relax in the spa. Although she was a bit nervous they did everything they could to make her feel welcome and happy. By the end she was asking to go back again! Such an amazing facility which made it feel like a proper break for 2 tired parents! My one small suggestion would be that it would be nice to have a vanity area in the Barnsley cottage so I could sit and do my hair/makeup, in such a big and luxurious space I would have expected this. But that really is the only thing I would have changed! Thank you Calcot, we will definitely be back!”
