Baslow, Peak District
Peak Perfection, Plated Beautifully
Where Peak District grandeur meets culinary artistry.
Perched on the edge of the pretty Derbyshire village of Baslow, Fischer's Baslow Hall is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever considered leaving the country. This Grade II listed stone manor house sits within the breathtaking landscape of the Peak District, its ancient walls and leaded windows framing views of rolling countryside that feel almost impossibly romantic. Eleven individually styled bedrooms dressed in smooth Egyptian cotton, sumptuous robes and carefully chosen toiletries ensure that every stay feels deeply personal — a home from home, only considerably more indulgent.

What They Say
“First class reception by smiling welcoming staff. Peaceful and relaxing lounge for pre lunch drinks and attentive service. Great food cooked to perfection which ranks with the best of fine dining. The ONLY slight disappointed was the Petit Four! After sumptuous food a “Jammy Dodger Surprise” was not fit for purpose at the 5* establishment. Thank you for a memorable lunch and maybe you will rethink the Petit Four selection. I still give you 10/10.”
“We had a family festive lunch at Fischer's, Baslow Hall in mid December. Whilst we initially booked for 9 family members, this was unfortunately gradually dwindled down to 6 people due to various people having to pull out for different reasons. Fischers were however very understanding and updated the booking each time with no issues. When we arrived in the day we were fortunate enough to have been allocated the "wine room", which is a small private room seating up to about 9 people. We found the service to be a very pleasant mix of formal and yet friendly at the same time, epitomised I think by the Australian waitress from Byron Bay. Everyone was addressed as Sir and Madam for example, but we shared fun chat and stories etc during the lunch. Food itself was absolutely first class. Not one person found anything to complain about from any of the dishes we enjoyed (we had 3 courses). Highlights included the mushroom "croissant" starter which was truly excellent, and the beef rib main course. All in all an excellent experience and I suspect we will be back when next passing through. (We had all travelled around 2 and a half hours to 'meet in the middle' given some family in Yorkshire and others in Hertfordshire ). Many thanks to all of you for a great afternoon”
“A beautiful house with wonderful dining rooms. Service was exceptionally discreet and professional and real care is taken over the guests. I can't recommend this establishment highly enough and would encourage any real foodie to try it. And for fans of the savory rather than sweet at the end of a meal..the English Stilton with a fine layer of British truffle was the best alternative to desert I have been served. A great place for any occasion ..especially a really special one.”
“We're biased as we've been coming here for 15 years. It has always been consistent in quality of food and service and, if anything the food has improved over the last couple of years. When we came first it had a Michelin star, but it's easily worth 2 Michelin stars. We have stayed and the hotel experience matches the dining and the building and garden provide a beautiful setting.”
“After a bad experience else where, these fabulous people came to our rescue. Room was ready upon our arrival, could not have been better. Greeted by staff as friends not just paying guests. Settled us into our room and provided a most delicious dinner. THANK YOU FISCHERS BASLOW HALL and yes we will return yet again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
