Soho, London
Soho's Most Charming Secret
Where Georgian grandeur meets the glittering irreverence of London's most spirited neighbourhood.
Tucked behind the electric buzz of Soho, Hazlitt's is one of London's most quietly extraordinary secrets — a collection of 18th-century townhouses that feel less like a hotel and more like the private residence of a brilliantly well-travelled aesthete. Every room is dressed with genuine period antiques, oil paintings, and curios that whisper of another era entirely, creating an atmosphere of effortless, bookish grandeur that no interior designer could manufacture. This is the kind of place where you arrive as a guest and leave feeling, somehow, that you've always lived here.
The genius of Hazlitt's lies in its glorious contradiction: step outside and you're plunged into the heart of one of London's most thrillingly hedonistic neighbourhoods, with the restaurants, bars, and theatre of Soho sprawling in every direction. Step back through the front door and the city dissolves entirely, replaced by creaking floorboards, velvet drapes, and the hushed satisfaction of somewhere that has absolutely nothing to prove. It is, in the truest sense, a country house hotel that has simply had the good taste to park itself in W1.
Hazlitt's is made for couples who want romance without cliché, for antique lovers who prefer their treasures to be lived-in, and for anyone who finds the idea of a soulless hotel lobby quietly devastating. Book a room, order in from Soho's finest, and let the 18th century hold you for a night. You will not want to leave.

What They Say
“Amazing location in Soho, surprisingly quiet in the rooms at night. Really attentive and accommodating staff. Love the style and cosy interior. Our bedroom was impeccable and lovely to stay in. I'd definitely recommend.”
“Really beautiful hotel and rooms in an amazing location. There were a few problems with the bathroom, mainly using the shower is impossible over the bath so don't try it. The toilet had a small leak and the taps were loose. The service was lovely, quality of everything top notch, breakfast was great. Actually very good value for the quality and location. I hope to return.”
“Beautifully decorated hotel, in an excellent location. Feels more like staying at a relatives house, rather than a hotel. Which makes for a very relaxing stay and much quieter than you would expect, for this central location. English charm and character, celebrating its colourful history by naming each room after past residents. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the air conditioning was exceptional. The mini bar and breakfast were reasonably priced. The bathroom complimented the buildings age. Some may struggle with there being no shower, but we found it to be a lovely excuse for a relaxing bath. We would’ve awarded Hazlitt’s five stars, had it not been for the dirty towels provided. Each of the two bath towels had stains and the scent of another person. It seems liking a previous guest had used them and folded them back neatly. The housekeeper most likely assumed they hadn’t been used and therefore, left them. I understand the hotel industry are trying to be more ecological and not over launder items. Nevertheless, at this price point you do expect a base line of cleanliness.”
“This hotel is really old and the rooms are intended to reflect that. Meaning no shower- just over the bath. No tea and coffee. Strange set up for mirrors. Reasonably priced mini bar. Charming though- although you can hear other rooms easily. And the location is perfect.”
“My son and I went to London for his 22nd birthday! Granted we had prob the best room. It was a suite with a beautiful patio that you can see in online pics! We went to Amsterdam after 4 days. Our hotel was gorgeous… there! But we both agreed .. The Hazlitt’s was like stepping back into time into the most amazing way! Staff was amazing and location perfection! WE WILL BE BACK AND WONT STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!”
