“I have finally got round to posting my review of La Sablonnerie as I visited the restaurant over 12 months ago. Notwithstanding my tardiness, I think its worthwhile to post my opinions. The experience was fantastic, we were blessed with lovely weather, fantastic meals and a wonderful selection of wines. The garden is an absolute delight. I have told so many people about this place. The staff (and owner Elizabeth) were professional and helpful. Thank you for a great experience.”
“It was very nice, a very pleasant experience eating in the garden on a sunny day. It was also much fancier and more expensive than I had expected. I had the duck breast, which was pretty good but the skin was hardly rendered at all. As long as you can handle high prices I'd definitely recommend it. If not, you're better off finding food in the Village”
“Amazingly beautiful gardens, flowers and plenty of bird song. A very optimistic and friendly hostess and attentive staff. I had a whole lobster in garlic butter, I was satisfied with everything, 4 stars rather than 5 as I didn't find the magical spark in any aspect of the place. Edit. Awful service in tea gardens, may as well of been a ghost... 3 stars”
“Food was perfect and the service was amazing. No rush service. We passed by and I was tempted to look inside from the menu just outside. It looked very old timey in the reception bit with a warm welcoming fire. I really liked this first impression of the place. So we booked for 8pm. We arrived 15mins late, but this wasn't a problem. We sat by the fire as we chosen the food we where going to have and was given a taster seafood dish. As we were paying the bill, we was given a slow gin each to keep us warm for the walk back to our accommodation. It was a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for, quality food, good wine and customer service throughout your meal. Definitely Recommended and I would go again.”
“As a family of 5 we stayed at la Sablonnerie in May 2022. What a warm welcome, what a beautiful place! We loved everything : the food is excellent, the rooms are very comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, the service is attentive and good, the farewell sloe gin toast memorable as we set off in the horse and cart for the harbour! A big thank you to Elizabeth and the Sablonnerie team - we look forward to returning.”
