The Cotswolds at Their Finest
Where Palladian grandeur, healing waters and Michelin-starred brilliance converge in one glorious English estate.
Set at the southern edge of the Cotswolds, Lucknam Park is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever considered leaving Britain for a holiday. A gracious Palladian mansion presiding over 500 acres of ancient parkland, it sits within easy reach of Regency Bath yet feels magnificently, blissfully removed from the world. The mile-long beech-lined drive alone is enough to signal that what awaits is something rather special.
At the heart of the estate lies the ESPA spa, a sanctuary of rare calibre where indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy pools invite lingering hours of restorative calm. Whether you're drifting between treatments or simply allowing the thermal waters to unknot the tensions of modern life, the spa earns its reputation as one of the finest in the country. For those who prefer their indulgence on horseback, the equestrian centre adds a distinctly romantic English dimension to the experience.
Then there is the table. Restaurant Hywel Jones — freshly unveiled following a complete luxury refurbishment — continues its Michelin-starred tradition in a setting that now matches its culinary ambitions. Evening here is an event: impeccable cooking, effortless service, candlelight pooling across newly designed interiors. Lucknam Park doesn't merely offer a staycation; it offers a reminder that the most extraordinary escapes have been here, just down a Wiltshire lane, all along.

What They Say
“Highly Recommend! I was fortunate to visit by invitation and was genuinely blown away by the experience, largely thanks to the incredible team. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made the stay feel personal and effortless from start to finish. The grounds are beautiful. Food is incredible. The walled gardens, restaurant, and Japanese-style ponds create such a calm, peaceful setting and really add to the sense of escape and chance to focus and reset for our important annual meeting. I was a little nervous about horse riding beforehand, but the team made the experience feel safe and reassuring, and it turned out to be something I’m really glad I tried. Overall, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay here. A special place, made even better by the team who made our stay feel comfortable!”
“Where do i even begin? The hotel is stunning. It is an experience and a half to have. The room was perfect and so clean. My partner took me there for my birthday and i didn’t want to leave. In fact it’s top on my list for places to come back to. Ordered room service and the food was magnificent. The grounds were fun to explore and the bikes are an extra thoughtful touch. Breakfast was 10/10. I highly recommend the spa. Above all else the hotel offers though, my favorite aspect was the staff. Everyone is so professional, so well put together and above all so friendly. I don’t know where they got their staff but may their pillows always be warm, their pockets never run dry and may they all age like wine. Each one of them. Unfortunately i am terrible with names but the three men at reception when we checked in on the 18th of December; Gareth, the Kenyan and the guy who promised to part the clouds for me, thank you 🙏.”
“Not really impressive compared to some of the best UK wide country hotels - actually quite disappointing! It was a bit ‘try hard’ at times; maybe there’s a transition with the new hotel but it wasn’t smooth or natural quintessentially British luxury. For £480 for a room for 1 night, expected more. Grounds fine but compared to others, again, actually not that great in topography. Chap who checked us in on Sunday 28th was quite rude and pretty irritating. Room service dinner of two fish and chips cost £50 total excluding service and the fish portions were literally the size of two fish fingers - abysmal. It feels like they’re trying to pull a fast one. As mentioned below - random daily service charge for nothing… and I would’ve paid £0 service charge based on my actual experience. If they want to present as the best then let’s evaluate the best. Room service awful. Make sweaty and puffing in arrival. Portion horrid. Peas and Chips were cold. Unacceptable. Breakfast: missed the brown bread request. Provided Avocado bread and forgot the chorizo. Missed a fork. Missed the napkin on the floor for 5 minutes. If they’re trying to be top top….. all of this needs to be done well. With our soup and sandwich lunch in the drawing room; delivered a dirty spoon with a substance I could scrape off. Showed staff and got a new one. All in all - not one of the places we’ll come back to!”
“We stayed for one night in The Orchid Room. Every single team member we spoke to was kind, attentive and helpful. The hotel and grounds are stunning, with beautiful views, sculptures and scenery. The spa was clean, relaxing and comfortable. We ate in the Walled Garden restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff again were fantastic, they were able to help with questions we had. The Sitting Room was really lovely, the team member in there knew his products and his knowledge he was able to provide about different drinks was amazing. The room was incredibly comfortable, clean and set up perfectly. Breakfast was in The Walled Garden, it was delicious, with plenty of options and local sourced ingredients. Highly recommended”
“Lovely spa evening followed by a great Michelin starred meal. The uploaded photo is of the immaculate changing rooms in the spa. The spa itself is very picturesque with a fireplace that runs half the length of the main pool. The hot pool/jacuzzi that is part inside part outside is a nice touch. The staff in the Michelin restaurant were excellent and offer a quintessential British experience; nuances that don't go unnoticed (assistance with pushing chair in, constantly watching drink levels, being mindful of noise levels from other tables, excellent knowledge of the large wine list) without being pretentious. The food itself was fantastic, too. My favourite course was the lamb, my wife's was the scallop - but all courses were enjoyed by both of us!”
