Fancy Farm, Serious Luxury
Where pig-arc whimsy meets Hampshire countryside grace.
Tucked into the folds of the Hampshire countryside, Silchester Farm is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever bothered with abroad. At the heart of this glorious rural retreat sits a Grade II-listed farmhouse, its history worn beautifully, surrounded by a constellation of utterly singular lodgings that together form what the owners rightly call their 'glorious little piece of rural escapism.' Chief among the curiosities are the 'Pyggies' — converted pig-arc suites that somehow manage to be both charmingly rustic and unabashedly luxurious, complete with king beds and soaking tubs. It is precisely the sort of detail that stops a dinner party conversation cold.
For groups in search of something beyond the predictable country house rental, Silchester Farm offers rare collective magic. The full estate can be taken exclusively, meaning your party has the run of the farmhouse, the barn, and those irresistible pig-arc suites — a combination that lends itself equally well to milestone celebrations, long-weekend reunions, or simply the kind of unhurried gathering that modern life rarely permits. The team, by all accounts, treat every request as entirely reasonable, which in our experience is the truest mark of exceptional hospitality.
Beyond the accommodation, a calendar of seasonal events — Sunday lunches, winter feasts, the intimate Graze & Gather suppers — ensures there is always a reason to linger longer than planned. Silchester Farm has also earned a quiet reputation as one of Hampshire's most sought-after wedding venues, and one visit reveals exactly why. Whether you arrive as a couple chasing novelty or a group craving genuine countryside connection, you will leave already plotting your return.

What They Say
“I had my wedding at Silchester in October, and everything about the venue, staff, wedding, was absolutely perfect. I could genuinely have not asked for more from Sophie, who throughout the wedding process (meetings leading up to it, emails, on the day), was incredible. The day was seamless thanks to her and the amazing staff at Silchester. The venue itself I knew would be great, but from start to finish, the beautiful setting, barns, little touches, hospitality including the breakfasts were all incredible and exceeded expectations. The main wedding food was amazing. The wedding events team and smooth nature of all the moving parts coming together really made our day more amazing than we could have ever imagined. Thank you so much! We will be back one day to stay in a Pyggie for a getaway!”
“We had our Wedding at Silchester Farm in October and it was the most incredibly perfect day! The setting is breathtaking and every space is stunning, with all the small details being thought through beautifully. We were fortunate enough to have the accommodation the night before our wedding (Farmhouse, Barnhouse & Pyggies) as well as the night of, and this made it feel like our own exclusive destination wedding. The food was delicious, the day ran absolutely seamlessly (despite crazy weather in the evening!) and our guests had the best time. Sophie was so fantastic on the day, supporting us through every step and kept things running perfectly. Thank you all so much!”
“We had our wedding at Silchester Farm in October this year and it truly was the most incredible day. From the very first email to the big day, everything was flawless, and so much of that is thanks to Sophie. She was incredible! Very professional, calm, and so attentive to every little detail and always making sure we were ok throughout the day too. She didn't miss a thing and made the whole day run so smoothly that we didn't have to worry about anything except enjoying ourselves. The venue is stunning and the food was amazing!! We honestly wish we could do it all over again it was the best day ever. Silchester Farm will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we couldn't recommend it more highly. Sophie and Jack xx”
“We LOVED our stay here, such a perfect escape from the city. We visited the farm shop where a lady (we sadly didn’t catch her name) kindly prepared some vegan brownies for us and even a special vegan breakfast which we weren’t expecting to be available! All the check in staff were also super lovely, and the pyggy was absolutely immaculate! Has everything you need for a cosy few nights away… 10/10 ❤️”
“I would first like to think the team at Silchester farm for their amazing hospitality. As we booked in December, we got a small gift that provided to us upon arrival which we greatly appreciated. The one thing I do think is worthy of note is that if there is a celebration or a wedding happening on the site a lot of the facilities are unavailable for example the restaurant is closed and not accessible to residents. This means that alternative food places have to be sorted out and most of them are quite some distance however nonetheless takeaway is available on site. There are facilities to use such as bikes, tennis courts, and a swimming pool in the summer”
