What they say

A wonderful experience to be so close to the sea, a comfortable hotel with a fresh airy feel, yet cosy too. Relaxing lounge for excellent tea and scones looking at the sea. We love this place and the Restaurant was really good this time with top quality cheffing (cooking by a chef!) and perfectly cooked fish. A better choice too. Don't let this chef go! Lovely to sit outside and enjoy a drink in the summer but equally good watching a raging sea from inside in the winter.

The Brudenell is a lovely hotel - our favourite in the U.K. Perfectly located right on the beach, you can hear the waves. The staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The room we’ve stayed in (twice) was lovely, cosy and well furnished, with great views and thoughtful touches like different lighting options for the bathroom and in the bedroom. We’ve stayed twice and already planning our return.

We only had dinner at the hotel but both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My husband is gluten and lactose intolerant and the waitress (who happened to be a coeliac) did a great job of talking us through the menu. The food was so good we managed to find space for 3 courses. I enjoyed a prawn tian which was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The monkfish was cooked to perfection and the meal was rounded off by a tiramisu. Excellent service at the table. We were so impressed we asked about rooms for a future stay and without any hesitation the receptionist showed us 3 different standards of rooms and gave us some tips on which rooms to book in future and mentioned about the vouchers offered for future stays. We will be back. Thank you and we'll done.

This was our first visit since the arrival of the new Duty Manager, Joshua, and what a transformation in atmosphere at the Brudenell. Joshua was present and on the go from before we came down to breakfast, until after we went to bed. Nothing was too much trouble, and always there to help. There are no problems or issues for Joshua, only opportunities to please guests with immediate and positive decisions and resolutions. The hotel staff were all cheerful, greeting us with a warm smile. If we needed anything, we could easily find someone who would sort it out for us. Breakfast was plentiful with cheerful staff always to hand. We enjoyed dinner in the Seafood & Grill restaurant. The 'Day Boat Fish' lemon sole special was a particular treat. Our bedroom was recently refurbished and very clean, which we appreciated after some experiences during previous visits. It would be nice to see a similar standard of refurbishment for the ground floor public areas, which are looking somewhat tired, but scrupulously clean. After previous visits, we had wondered if it is still worth the long drive to The Brudenell, but Joshua and his team made sure that we'll be back in 2026.

Visit quite often... the 2 courses for £20 with such high quality food is such good value. Cocktails are always as good as anywhere in london and the team are very good at what they do. We do not always stay but this time we did and cannot wait to return for a weekend.
