I went with friends for afternoon tea. The teas were made from high quality produce, well presented and copious amounts, making them excellent value. We were able to have our gathering in the library which is beautifully decorated giving a luxurious, welcoming feel. Staff were very attentive and service was excellent. I can't fault the young man sorting the bill for his patient explaining (several times) for the final bill. He is a credit to the hotel. His colleague who served the tea and food was also excellent as she sorted our booking. I do have a couple of suggestions for management to address. 1) system for checking emails. I'd advance via email to make a booking with dietary requirements. I had to email a couple of times before I got a reply that my email had been forwarded to the head chef. I did email again for updates but received no response. Finally, I rang and there was no booking made for me. I paid the deposit over the phone, confirmed the details but on arrival, staff had no knowledge of my reservation or request for diet needs. The staff on duty sorted everything out very professionally, but the situation is avoidable. 2) making a booking - how this is recorded by staff for the duty staff to access on the day.

🌟 Beautiful Stay & Spa Experience in Wales 🌟 I had the most wonderful time at the hotel and spa in Wales — it was truly a relaxing and rejuvenating experience from start to finish. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm, friendly team who made me feel so welcome. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was peaceful and elegant, making it such a lovely place to unwind. The spa facilities were absolutely brilliant — clean, serene, and perfect for switching off. I enjoyed every part of my time there, from the calming treatment rooms to the luxurious spa areas. The staff were attentive, professional, and made sure every detail was taken care of, which made the entire experience feel really special. The accommodation was comfortable and beautifully presented, making it feel like a true home-away-from-home. Add in the delicious food and drinks, and you’ve got the perfect wellness break. Overall, I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning my next visit. ✨ Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful spa getaway in Wales! 🌿💆‍♀️ All the best to the new owners. A fantastic space with so much inspiration.

A really beautiful hotel with lovely historical features. The library was a real treat and I could have spent days in there! The grounds were beautiful even in the middle of winter. Slightly let down by the fact that the billiards room obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a long while but we still managed to play a few games and the table was in good condition, shame really as the room was gorgeous. Staff are mostly lovely apart from one member of staff in Romanas restaurant. In terms of food, Romanas restaurant was a let down, a small menu with over 1/3rd of the items not available. Breakfast was fabulous and the food in the clocktower bistro was also lovely, shame it wasn’t open for dinner as an alternative to the Italian restaurant. We would definitely like to visit again, if only to explore the library more!

Just returned from a weekend trip to tres y gawen country house and spa, my children bought this trip for me for my 60th birthday present. Rooms were spacious and kept to the traditional decor BUT!!!!!! The house keeping leaves a lot to be desired. I felt like we were just thrown in this room as an afterthought … the room was extremely dirty. Dust everywhere, Photo frames , chairs , chair legs , skirting boards, the tea/ coffee table was full of stains and sugar in tray , they hadn’t even cleaned that out. Two beautiful chairs had dust down each side and dust on legs . The curtains were full of stains as were the seats on the two chairs in room… they hadn’t even shower hose has come apart at top and plug hole was full of very dark hair which turned my stomaching do have pictures to prove the cleanliness … these are simple cleaning procedures that SHOULD have been practiced. The toilet sea was also disgusting with stains and the wood blown when the seat is up as the seat is so bad it had left brown marks on the porcelain. The panelling along sinks were full of dust as was the radiator in bathroom. There were very big cobwebs hanging from the ceilings in different areas, again these are simple cleaning procedures. However having being negative about housekeeping the hotel has an amazing team of staff who are a credit to this beautiful hotel along with the best food I have ever had and that goes to all eateries in this grand hotel. The spa was wonderful as were the staff poolside … Thank you for a lovely weekend away .

Rooms were fine. Staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. Italian restaurant is fantastic. Breakfast is underwhelming, pastries just weren't out one morning. Hot food to order menu advertises veggie sausage and bacon but when ordered no bacon came with no explanation and veggie sausages are vegetable fritter kind, not mock meat. Location is out of the way, not an issue if youre driving but nothing in the vicinity. spa is lovely and massage was fantastic.
